It's Been a Journey
Have you ever felt like your body is holding you back from living the life you truly deserve? Maybe you’ve tried countless diets, intense workout routines, or even weight loss supplements, only to end up right where you started- or worse, feeling even more discouraged.
You wake up every day carrying more than just extra weight. It’s the knee pain when you stand, the constant fatigue, and the shortness of breath from simple tasks like walking up stairs. It’s the overwhelming dread when you face your reflection, feeling like your body doesn’t reflect the person you know you are inside.
And it’s more than just physical discomfort; there’s an invisible weight, too…the judgment, the guilt, the isolation. Every time you try to make a change it feels like life has a way of pulling you back. Stress, time constraints, or even well-meaning advice from friends can feel dismissive and leave you feeling alone.
But you’re not alone, and this isn’t your fault. At Reveal, we understand that obesity isn’t just about weight; it’s about the emotional and physical burdens that can take over your life.
imagine the life you want
Picture waking up and feeling at ease in your body. You’re able to go for a walk, play with your kids, or enjoy a social gathering without worrying about how you look or feeling out of place.
You’re wearing clothes you actually like; clothes that reflect your personality, not just ones that fit. You feel confident, empowered, and in control of your health.
You’re no longer chasing after quick fixes but embracing a program that supports you as a whole person, not just a number on a scale.
ARE YOU READY to take back CONTROL over your HEALTH and WELL-BEING?
you're in the right place
As a board-certified nurse practitioner with years of clinical experience and specialized training in obesity management, I am deeply commitment to helping people achieve their healthiest selves through effective weight management. Dissatisfied with the typical approaches to weight management, I set out to offer more than just a quick fix. The weight loss program I designed encompasses a comprehensive, personalized approach to lasting change. I understand the complex challenges of weight management and have designed this program to empower you with the tools, knowledge, and support you need to succeed. My goal is to provide a nonjudgmental environment where you feel encouraged and motivated at every step of your journey, because after you’ve already come so far on your journey, you deserve the opportunity to invest in something that will actually work.

Do You Know Your Obesity Phenotype?
The MyPhenome™ test is an AI-derived genetic test that allows you to determine your obesity phenotype from a simple cheek swab collection. The test uses sophisticated software to analyze 6,000 genetic variants in the genes that enable communication between the brain and gut (the “gut-brain axis”). This information will provide you with information about which medication is most likely to work best for you and deliver actionable steps you can take to guide your weight loss efforts.
The Four Types of Obesity
HUNGRY BRAIN
Hungry Brain® is a term used to describe a type of obesity where the brain doesn’t properly signal when the body is full, leading to overeating. People with this phenotype may eat larger portions or feel hungry even after eating a meal because their brain isn’t responding to signals from the stomach indicating fullness. This can be due to genetic factors or differences in how the brain processes hunger and satiety signals. Treatments for Hungry Brain® often focus on portion control, mindful eating, and sometimes medications that can help regulate appetite and brain signaling pathways
HUNGRY GUT
Satiety is the feeling of fullness during and after eating. In the Hungry Gut® phenotype, people may feel full while eating but quickly become hungry again soon after. This happens because the stomach empties food faster than in other phenotypes. Once we understand the underlying factors, or “multi-omics,” behind your obesity, we can offer targeted treatments specific to this phenotype. Knowing the best times to eat, choosing the right foods, and using additional therapies can greatly support successful weight loss.
EMOTIONAL HUNGER
Emotional hunger refers to eating in response to either negative or positive emotions, or using food as a way to cope. It often involves intense cravings and can be linked to feelings of anxiety or depression. Genetic factors or certain metabolite levels might help identify those who have the emotional hunger obesity phenotype. For individuals with this pattern, treatments like cognitive therapy or medications that target the emotional or psychological aspects can be effective and may promote weight loss.
SLOW BURN
In the Slow Burn® phenotype, a person’s metabolism is slower than usual, which is also called abnormal energy expenditure. This phenotype is often associated with low muscle mass and a slower metabolic rate. Certain genetic factors or low levels of specific metabolites can help identify individuals with the slow burn phenotype. For those with this dominant trait, focusing on targeted physical activity may be the most effective approach for weight loss.

Week 1: The Start of Sarah’s Journey
Initial Consultation (In-Clinic)
Sarah began her journey with a comprehensive consultation. Her medical history, lifestyle, and weight loss goals were reviewed, followed by a physical exam and lab work. A MyPhenome® Test was conducted to identify her obesity phenotype, with results expected in 3-5 weeks.
During this visit, Sarah also completed a body composition analysis using the Withings Body Comp scale, which measured her body fat, muscle mass, and other metrics. She took the scale home to continue monitoring her progress, with data automatically syncing to an app accessible to both her and her provider.
Sarah received a personalized meal plan and instructions for accessing the secure patient portal, where she could log meals, physical activity, and other health metrics. She also received information on scheduling her weekly virtual health coaching sessions for additional support.
Week 2: Personalized Treatment, Logging, and Health Coaching
Lab Results and Initial Treatment Plan (Virtual Visit)
Sarah’s lab results showed elevated blood sugar and cholesterol, indicating pre-diabetes. A GLP-1 receptor agonist (Wegovy) was prescribed to help manage her appetite, but her insurance denied coverage. Sarah was informed of the decision through the patient portal, and an alternative medication was started while an appeal was filed.
First Virtual Health Coach Session and Daily Logging
Sarah scheduled her first virtual health coaching session, where she and her health coach discussed strategies for managing hunger and stress-related eating. She began logging her meals, physical activity, and other health metrics in the portal app, giving her provider valuable insights into her habits and progress.
Provider Response to Portal Messages
Throughout the week, Sarah reached out with questions through the portal, particularly on days when cravings were strong or she struggled with her meal plan. Her provider responded promptly, offering brief but meaningful feedback. For instance, when Sarah expressed concerns about managing late-day hunger, the provider recommended a protein-rich snack to help keep her satisfied until dinner.
Sarah also received occasional positive reinforcement directly on her logs, celebrating small wins and encouraging her to continue building healthy habits.
Week 6: Phenotype Results, Appetite Management, and Personalized Support
Phenotype Results: Hungry Brain® (Virtual Visit)
Sarah’s MyPhenome® Test results revealed the Hungry Brain® phenotype, indicating leptin resistance and a tendency toward hunger even when she’s eaten enough. Her treatment plan was updated to focus on appetite control techniques, including a focus on high-fiber foods and behavioral strategies.
Health Coach Support and Real-Time Messaging
With her Hungry Brain® phenotype in mind, Sarah’s health coach tailored their sessions to help her differentiate between true hunger and emotional cravings. Sarah continued logging her meals and activities, and when she had questions, she sent quick messages through the portal. The provider responded with practical tips and brief feedback, such as suggesting easy adjustments to her meal timing to help manage cravings.
Week 8: Continuous Support, Coaching, and Encouragement
Weekly Health Coaching and Body Composition Tracking
Sarah’s progress was monitored through weekly coaching sessions and body comp scale data, which showed gradual improvements in her body composition. When Sarah faced challenges or had questions about her routine, she messaged her provider, receiving timely responses that helped her feel supported and motivated.
Ongoing Provider Feedback and Positive Reinforcement
Sarah received occasional feedback on her logs, which focused on positive reinforcement and encouragement. When Sarah logged consistent physical activity, her provider congratulated her on her dedication, and when she logged a particularly balanced meal, her provider highlighted the nutritional choices she was making. These small but meaningful interactions reinforced Sarah’s efforts and kept her engaged with her goals.

Mark appreciated the quick responses, which kept him motivated and on track despite his busy schedule.
Week 5: Phenotype Results and Personalized Adjustments
Phenotype Results: Slow Burn® (Virtual Visit)
Mark’s MyPhenome® Test results revealed a Slow Burn® phenotype, indicating a naturally slower metabolism. With this information, his provider adjusted the treatment plan to focus on increasing his metabolic rate through diet and exercise. Mark’s meal plan was updated to include smaller, frequent meals rich in lean protein, fiber, and thermogenic foods.
Health Coach Collaboration on New Strategies
During his next health coaching session, Mark and his coach discussed how to adjust his eating schedule to support his metabolism. His coach also suggested incorporating resistance training to help build muscle mass and boost his resting metabolic rate, which would support his weight loss efforts.
Week 6: Progress Monitoring and Ongoing Support
Continued Logging and Real-Time Feedback
Mark maintained his routine of logging meals, workouts, and other health metrics in the portal app. When he reached out with questions, his provider responded with quick feedback and brief messages of encouragement. Noticing his commitment to his exercise routine, the provider suggested increasing his protein intake slightly to support muscle growth.
Weekly Coaching and Body Composition Tracking
With consistent use of the Withings scale, Mark began to see gradual changes in his body composition, including reduced body fat and increased muscle mass. His coach used this data to help him set realistic short-term goals, reinforcing the progress he was making. Mark found these sessions motivating, as he could see tangible improvements in his metrics.
Virtual Follow-Up and Future Planning
At the end of six weeks, Mark met with his provider virtually to review his progress and set new goals. They discussed his body composition changes, the improvements in his energy levels, and his success in incorporating more physical activity into his routine. They also planned how to build on this momentum moving forward, with additional focus on maximizing his metabolic rate as part of his Slow Burn® phenotype strategy.
Mark expressed gratitude for the responsive support and real-time feedback, which made a significant difference in his ability to stay on track. He felt confident and motivated to continue his journey, knowing he had a dedicated team to support him.
